We’ve had a fun week, but looked forward to Saturday when Dad could join us. We headed south to Provo for a day of fun!
First stop, the Carl Bloch exhibit at the Museum of Art on the BYU campus. Wow, was it cool. We weren’t allowed to take pictures of the exhibit, but we bought a book with all the paintings in it.
While we were perusing the merchandise, Koko and Emma noticed a teacher from their school also in the gift shop. They whispered, “He just won Teacher of the Year Award at our school!”
Joe immediately picked up a second book and bought it, along with ours. He put it in a separate bag and handed it to the teacher. He told them our girls went to his school, even though they didn’t have him for a teacher they knew he won Teacher of the Year. Joe thanked him for his hard work with the kids and gave him the book. He was surprised (shocked) and very grateful. About a week later, Joe got an e-mail from him thanking him. He had remembered our girls names and spent time looking them up and finding Joe’s contact information. No wonder he’s the Teacher of the Year. I’m so grateful for good teachers!!!
The exhibit was truly amazing and breathtaking. They have gathered paintings and sculptures from around the world for this exhibit and it was a privilege to be able to see them in real life. My favorite was a picture of Christ coming out of the tomb, surrounded by angels and Easter lilies…beautiful!!
At the beginning of the exhibit, we went into a small room to watch a short film. There weren’t enough seats together, so Joe took some kids to the back row and I took some kids to the front row. We left after the 8 minute movie and I counted heads before going into the exhibit. We were missing Emma. She hadn’t come into the movie with us because she had run to the bathroom and didn’t know we had gone it to watch the film. Both of us thought the other parent had her. We quickly found her (thank goodness) and she was quite upset. She initially panicked and had been looking for us, even going back to the car thinking we had left. But she had the feeling to go back to museum and stay put by the front door. That’s where we found her. I’m so glad that cute girl listened to the promptings she felt!

After the exhibit, we called Lindsey to see if she could go to lunch with us. Luckily she was available, so we hit the bookstore first, then headed over to pick her up. Lunch was at Los Hermanos, the requisite eating place when we visit Provo. Too bad I forgot my t-shirt, I could’ve gotten a free drink…
After we dropped Lindsey off, we were driving towards the freeway when Joe suddenly pulled off the road into a parking lot. Sitting next to us was Lance and Leslie!! What are the chances? We rolled down our windows and talked to them for a bit, I still can’t believe Joe saw them as he was driving down the street!

We had a lovely day with Daddy, I can’t wait to do that again!
