BEAU, BEAU, He’s our man!

Happy Birthday B!! I can’t believe my baby boy is six years old, what??

He is such a stud. Off to school, then the party can begin!

Beau loves Legos and Star Wars and Ninjago and Chima and Avengers and Hockey. He is kind and when he’s happy and his dimple is showing, be still my heart…

I love my little Beau-buddy!!

Scout Camp!

Joe is the 11-year-old scout leader…which he is very good at! Especially when it comes to “camping”, yeah, it’s in quotes…

This is the second year they have planned the campout for Grandma and Grandpa Heugly’s yard, the boys absolutely love it! There’s a pool, so they can pass of swimming merit badges, there’s a barbecue so they can pass of outdoor cooking, and there’s a fire at the flip of a switch. (Not to mention flushing toilets), this is the perfect way to camp!

Joe took the boys with him this year so 1) Colin could pass some of his own scout stuff off since he won’t be able to attend scouts as often once football starts, and 2) They won’t be able to attend the Fathers and Sons camp, so Joe is creating his own opportunity here.

They had a grand time and the girls and I suffered without them ; )2014 May June 0012014 May June 0032014 May June 005

Happy Scouting!!

Romance at its finest…

Just sitting by the light of our double monitors, listening to our new iTunes downloads, and sharing a moment….

I love this guy. 2014 May phone 243

Yay for Choir!!

One of my very favorite things is to watch my kids perform at school. This year, Emma and Koko are both at Albion, both in the choir, and both very good singers and performers!

I loved the concert performance, perhaps a little more than Beau and Annie did…2014 May phone 236  2014 May phone 237

It always cracks me up to see the speakers and screen in the ceiling of the kiva. It always looks like an unimpressed, smug facial expression…see?2014 May phone 242

Elder Heugly!!

What? Andrew’s going on a mission??!! Andrew is such a great young man, we are all excited to see where he will be going on his mission. Liz and Jake had a fun night planned where Andrew opened his mission call. We all made our guesses, I thought for sure he was going to Tonga!

Well, I was way off….Elder Heugly has been called to serve in the Paraguay Asuncion Mission! Wow, we’ll miss him! But the people of Paraguay are in for a real treat. He will be going directly to the MTC in Argentina, so he is outta here.

We’ve watched Andrew grow up, from next door and across the street. We love you Elder, we’ll be praying for you every minute that you’re gone! 2014 May phone 2222014 May phone 2232014 May phone 224

Darling assistants

I am currently working for a local newspaper company. When I go on interviews or get information for stories, I often bring my littles. They are usually well-behaved (I’d say about 92% of the time, they are well-behaved : )

This time, they were too cute not to capture in a photo. Pretend reading at the library! I love it!!

I’ll take these guys with me anytime! 2014 May phone 2202014 May phone 213

It’s Emma’s party, she can bowl if she wants to.

Emma had a little friend party…we started at Pie Five (mmmm, pizza, gluten-free pizza to boot!)

Koko accompanied me and we took Caroline, Megan, Sammie, Cassidy, Ella, and Emma (of course!) Now that these girls are all turning 12, we get them in Beehives, hurray!!

Also, now that they’re all turning 12, we had a bit of drama at the party. Nothing major, but I believe a 12-year-old party is required to have a bit of drama. Gratefully, Emma is very good at keeping the peace and everyone got along swimmingly. I’m so proud of my girl, she is such a lovely young woman in every way!!2014 May phone 1932014 May phone 1972014 May phone 1982014 May phone 1992014 May phone 2002014 May phone 201  2014 May phone 203

Happy Birthday darling girl! I even bowled with the girls and let’s just say, I was not a top scorer.

Sandy Pride!

Do you want to know what I love? I love serving in Young Women’s. I love the leaders I work with.  I love being with these girls. I love planting flowers. I love good dirt.

Do you know what else I love? Doing all these things at the same time.

Our youth were invited to help plant flowers at City Hall for Sandy Pride Day. It was so fun (and we did a pretty good job, if I do say so myself!). The City erected some new statues to celebrate our heroes, I love the one of the firemen raising the flag on 9/11 and the one of the fallen soldier on one side and the family he left behind on the other. Very, very touching!

Jog-a-thon!

I was able to help out with the kid’s jog-a-thon this year…they were adorable! I have to say, though, my toughest kid was Annie. Colin, Camri and Beau ran a little bit, but Annie ran all the way around the whole track, I’m proud of my girl.

I had to come help Camri because she’s been having a strange allergic reaction lately where she breaks into hives. We’re not sure what’s causing it, but this is the second time in a few weeks. I brought some medicine to her at the field and she didn’t let it get her down! She even danced the Macarena with her teacher! 2014 May phone 1732014 May phone 1742014 May phone 1752014 May phone 176

Camri’s a Star!

This is Camri’s second year in Spanish Immersion, she is quite fluent. This little cutie has a gift with languages and has picked it up amazingly well!

One of my favorite things they do is the Spring Program, because they perform in English and Spanish, including some pretty fancy Spanish dancing! It’s awesome!2014 May phone 1632014 May phone 1642014 May phone 165   2014 May phone 1672014 May phone 169   2014 May phone 170

I absolutely love her teachers this year, Kathy Abuchaibe and Gladys Hamilton. In fact, Camri loves them so much, she named her doll Kathy Gladys!  They are wonderful women who have taken very good care of my kids over the years. I’m so thankful for an amazing school!

And watching Camri dance the salsa was definitely a highlight!!
