Random is my forte

One day Colin was running late, so Camri made his lunch. What a nice sister! I knew it! I knew they loved each other!!
   
Lunch with Daddy is a real treat, especially when we have time to hit the mall for a minute…

Sunday before Christmas

This is one of my favorite Sundays of the year!  We got back from our Anniversary weekend yesterday morning and I was only done with two dresses, with two to go.  I took the girls to Joann’s with me and let them pick their colors.  We knew what dress we were making, but they wanted a say in color.  By some miracle, I was able to finish Koko’s and Emma’s dresses on Saturday so they could wear them today.  A miracle, I tell ya!
Sue gave me a bunch of fabric and stuff earlier this year, including a large supply of lace.  I used it on Camri’s and Annie’s dresses…I love how they turned out!  The boys got matching sweaters and we were good to go. 
Church was wonderful, especially Young Women’s.  Joe helped out with some media because we showed a Mormon Message.  He ended up staying in there and I was so glad!  Beau’s primary class came in and sang a song, he’s so dang cute.  I participated by sharing one of my most memorable Christmases…the one in the MTC. 


School’s out, church was great, Christmas is on Wednesday.  It’s time to relax and enjoy our time together!! I love this time of year!

Fun with kids, fun with food

Joe surprised the kids and told them we would take Koko, Emma, and Colin to Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games.  I guessed they were pretty excited when I saw the lunches Emma made that day for school…Great show, even better company. 
While they were at school, I did finally get to the grocery store and I was surprised when I saw my receipt…especially since marijuana was just legalized in Colorado.  This made me laugh…

Team Heugly

One of my very favorite things as a mom is when I see my kids getting along.  The best is when they don’t think anyone’s looking.  It’s not like they constantly fight, but they often do their own thing, go about business, and *ahem*, yes, they sometimes fight. 
But look what I found…a sister who feels so safe with her big brother that she literally fell asleep on him.  A brother that didn’t brush a sister off and let her rest while he was reading.  (I hope he was reading, but he was probably playing a game.)  Either way, it’s love. Team Heugly.
Look what else I found.  The stomach flu hit every single person in the family, yuck, but not at the same time.  The ones who were not sick took care of the ones who were sick, then when they DID get sick, they were taken care of by the same ones they cared for. Team Heugly.
I also found two busy little helpers.  I asked them if they wanted to go grocery shopping or shovel snow.  (Sidenote: grocery shopping usually means a treat of some kind for the attendees. Judge me if you will for this practice, but it makes shopping a whole lot easier). 
It was unanimous, they wanted to shovel snow, who would’ve thought?  They had a great time together and we got by without milk for one more day.  Team Heugly.

Our cute cheerleader friend invited Emma and Camri to a mini-cheer camp, then they performed at a basketball halftime…it was so fun! We love Alli and Lauren!

While they were waiting, the girls played Red Rover in the back gym…Camri got hit pretty hard and sent Emma to get me.  They put ice on it, and this little trooper decided to perform anyway!

Nerd-ville

Spirit Day…Nerd Day!!  I don’t know, I think they’re a little too good at this look…We took the girls to see Ender’s Game, sci-fi nerds.

Happy Birthday, you old lady.

Since Dakota’s birthday fell on our Ward Trunk-or-Treat night (again) and she insisted she wanted to go (again), we did presents the night before.
The kids all gave her fun stuff like a curling iron, blow dryer, hair styling products, and games.  I think she was happy…
     
The next morning, it was official.  My teeny-tiny baby is 14 years old.  What??

Aaaaand, look how gorgeous she is…she cleans up real nice.
Dad was able to get away, so I checked her and Emma out of school and we went to Café Rio for lunch.  Sweet Dad picked up some dessert on the way, including some GF treats.  This stuff was goooo-oooood.
After school, we got ready for the big party.  Looking good, ‘Riz.

Since I’m a lucky lady and get to work with the Young Women now, I got to help out with some of the activities.  We had face painting, cake walk, bag decorating, fishing tank, and more.  It was really fun!
  
These guys crack me up.  Jenny is expecting a little boy and Jeff is expecting a little hamburger meal.  Hilarious!
