The kids had a day off, so we decided to have some fun. First stop, library to pick up some good books.
Second stop, Yogurt Stop. Yum and yum! You can have frozen yogurt for lunch, right?
A quick trip to the grocery story so they can pick out some reading treats, then home for our Read-a-thon. Everyone comfy? Good.
Love these kids!
I love it when the kids have a day off school. I love it even more when Joe ALSO takes the day off. Hmmm, how shall we spend our day of fun?
How about basketball at the church? Dad ran drills with the big kids while I gave the little kids piggy-back rides around the gym.
How about a breakfast burrito? It’s nice when you can go to Del Taco and the employees recognize you…or maybe it means we are a (much too) frequent customer…
Hmmm, what’s next? I know! Let’s go swimming!! In January!! Party!!We love this place. Where’s Joe? I see him!Since we live on Mexican food, how about La Frontera? How about some games with the kids? How about watching Wreck-It Ralph? How about stories with Dad? How about a little snack of pudding?
How about we do this more often? I miss it when Joe used to take banker’s holidays (you know, when he worked at the bank!), but if we can get a few of these days in each year, I’ll be a happy girl.
It was such a fun day! The kids were glad to be together (and relieved that we didn’t spend the whole day cleaning up!)
Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!
Happy Family Day!
We’ve had a bit of snow this winter, but not a lot. It’s been cold, so the snow hasn’t melted, but it’s old and dirty. We were thrilled when we got more snow and rushed to our favorite hill to take advantage of some sledding. As you can see, we still had to be careful not to slide down the grass…
It wasn’t too crowded and we had a grand time! Annie loved it and kept wanting to go down with whoever would take her. Koko and Beau got cold, Colin and his friend Jared raced over and over, and Emma and Camri tried to see who could go farther.
Time for hot chocolate!!!
We got a peek at the beginnings of this beautiful creation when we came up for our anniversary, so we decided to come back when it opened up so we could walk through it. Totally worth it. It was so cool! And pretty! And cold!
We went with my mom and dad…they live right down the street from this beauty. There were a lot of people, but it wasn’t too crowded. It looked like the big crowds were coming just as we left. Good timing.
This was above us as we walked out…so pretty. And a little scary.
We drove by the Homestead on our way back to Zermatt and saw their ice fountain. It looked pretty all lit up.
We had dinner with Mom and Dad and a nice visit. When we left, the kids were asleep before we even got to the end of the first road. It’s tough work to have this much fun!!
