Team Mom Duties

Yes, it’s football time. Yes, Joe’s the head coach. Yes, that means I‘m the team mom.

Last year was fun, I loved being involved with all the families. This year is a bit different because instead of 16 players, we have 29! That means 29 players, plus families, parents, grandparents. 29 jerseys to get names on (that was an adventure!! we lost couple of jerseys in the process), 29 lanyards to make (which meant taking 29 pictures), 29 families to gather money from, 29 (at least) emails every Monday morning each week of the season, 29 fundraising packets (another adventure), and 29 great boys.

Good thing I love these kids! Bring it on.

Last year, Coach Marti was on our team with his son. He decided to play baseball this year, so he didn’t join the team. But over the summer, Coach Marti had a near-death experience that changed his life. He came to speak to the boys and pump them up for the season, it was awesome! Here he is with our boys…thanks Coach!

Family and Friends

Lindsey decided to come to Utah a little early for school, so I made a plan to go see her. Since I was going to Provo, naturally I called Cheryl too! I met Lindsey first and we wandered through campus, checked out the newly remodeled Bean Museum and stopped by the administration building to pick up my transcripts. Yep, I’m going back to school. My plan is to apply to graduate school next fall, attend the U of U to get my MSW and take classes during the summer and while Annie is in first grade all day.

So, to get the inside scoop, I asked Cheryl if she could join us for lunch so I could pick her brain. We met her at work and took a tour of Center for Change. She does an amazing work with her clients.

We headed over to Kneaders for a yummy lunch, Annie had fun with the girls!
