Saturday was Colin’s baptism. Whoa.
My son is eight and was definitely ready for this day! The service started at 9:00, so we were up at 6:30 getting ready….last minute clean-up, last minute food prep, and getting the kids all dressed and ready. It was a bit stressful for a moment, but I turned to Joe and said, “It’s about the ordinances, right? As long as Colin is baptized and confirmed, this day will be a success.”
We got to the church and took a few pictures. My goodness he his handsome!

My beautiful boys, looking pretty sharp…

My greatest joys in life….all six of them…

Families are Forever.

While the boys got dressed in their white clothes, Beau wanted to join them. I’m pretty sure he thinks he is Colin’s twin and he thought he should be getting baptized too.

Here they are…

Mother and son. I love that kid!

The service was beautiful. Colin was the only one from our ward, and there were three kids from another ward also getting baptized. One of their big brothers gave a great talk on baptism and mentioned some of the places past Prophets were baptized. There was a musical number by some of the brothers and sisters, “I like to look for rainbows”. Then it was my turn to speak on the Holy Ghost. I was a mess after listening to those cute kids sing, but I made it through okay.
We were excused first, and Joe baptized Colin a member of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was awesome. Both Grandpas were witnesses and all the kids gathered by the font so they could see better.
Joe and Colin went to get dressed and we all went into the Primary room for his confirmation. Was it two years ago we were here, watching Emma get confirmed and Annie blessed? It seems like just a moment ago.
Joe and I were able to bear our testimonies and then Joe confirmed Colin a member of the church and bestowed upon him the gift of the Holy Ghost by the power of the Priesthood. Oh my heart was ready to burst! We had so much love and support from family and friends. Plus, almost his entire Primary class was there, which meant a lot to Colin AND Joe, since Joe is his Primary teacher. The love and support we felt was overwhelming, it was incredible!
We went to our house for a little open house and had a great time visiting with family and friends.

Cousins are the best!

Sisters and Moms are the best! Bridger even took a moment to pose…

We had croissants, ham, fruit and veggie trays, and hot chocolate.

My two favorite moms in the whole entire world! How lucky am I?

Gentlemen…

Yay, more cousins!

Primary friends!

Colin is surrounded by great young men. He’s a lucky guy.

Peek-a-boo Amy!

We love Grandma Yvonne!

Colin has some great footsteps to follow in his life. A wonderful father, and two wonderful grandfathers to show him how to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ.

Emma rocked the fancy dress and slippers. That’s my girl.

Best friends = cousins.

Beautiful friends.

Beautiful brother.

I love how Tanner poses here…with his gorgeous Mom (she’s having a baby!!)

Lots of loving family.

More beautiful friends with beautiful babies.

Let’s just say, I scored in the In-Law department. I love Joe’s parents, I love how they raised their five boys, I love spending time with them. I love that we’re not only family, but dear friends as well. They are so great!

I was raised by goodly parents. They taught me the Gospel, they taught me how to treat others, they showed me what a good marriage and good parents look like. I will forever look to their example of how to navigate this mortal life. I am so blessed!

Here is my beautiful and perfectly healthy sister and her family. She overcame some major health issues this year and I feel humbled when I am with her. She is strong and wonderful and look at her amazing family!! Man, I love these guys!

My gorgeous nieces…

Kevin and Lorchin happened to be in town this weekend, and I was so pleasantly surprised to see them! Thank goodness for the snowstorm in Denver or they would’ve gone there. Kevin was just released as Bishop of his ward, so I guess he has some wiggle room on the weekends now…

Annie like the cookies, or was it just the buttercream frosting?

Gathering around the water cooler, literally…

Ahhh, twins…

Mmm, let’s try again…

Here we go! Christmas card material.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported us or expressed kind words on this day. You mean so much to our family. It may have been about the ordinances, but I also felt overwhelmed by the love and was grateful to everyone who participated on this special day.
Three down, three to go….
